The Center for Corporate Education (CCE) at SBU offers professional education and workforce development programs. Programs are offered at company facilities, or at conveniently located training centers on LI. Expert faculty and instructors deliver programs in a variety of formats: credit, non-credit, graduate certificate programs, workshops, seminars, customized professional development and distance learning.

The Center for Operational Excellence offers lean workshops and other continuous improvement training conducted at company sites, consisting of a combination of classroom training and application of techniques in the workplace. Including a Lean Certificate Course, Introduction to Continuous Improvement, and Lean Boot camps.


The Advanced Energy Center (AEC) is innovative energy research, education and technology deployment with a focus on efficiency, conservation, renewable energy and nanotechnology applications for new and novel sources of energy.


Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) offers programs that assist companies from start-up through maturity, leveraging the state’s unparalleled investment in world-class technology assets and expertise.


The Center for Advanced Technology in Diagnostic Tools, Sensor Systems’ (Sensor CAT) purpose is to help companies generate economic impact, and to help grow and release the economic value of intellectual property.


The mission of the Center for Biotechnology is to develop bioscience innovations into next-generation biomedical products, facilitate new company formation and expansion and support the overall growth of the bioscience industry in New York State through specific programmatic offerings and the development of bioscience-specific infrastructure.


The mission of the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) is to best capitalize on the IT revolution, spur economic growth, advance scientific research and develop the technologies of tomorrow. CEWIT’s threefold approach is to become recognized as a world leader in interdisciplinary research in the emerging, critical technologies of the information age, address the skilled technology worker shortage, and foster new enterprise development.


The Clean Energy Business Incubator Program (CEBIP) is committed to helping clean energy technology companies bridge the gap between innovation and market using the expertise, business acumen and technological resources of our management team, Advisory Board and extensive partners.


The demand for products utilizing composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid is growing exponentially. CPC, the Composite Prototyping Center, is uniquely equipped to help new and established organizations leverage composites technology as a designated program partner with MTRC at Stony Brook University. Companies need a national leader in composites technology material and process development, testing, prototyping, and training. No other center or resource in the country has CPC’s combination of equipment and resources that can re-engineer present day manufacturing methodologies and worker capabilities to leverage composites technology.


A Stony Brook Incubator Program is assigned an Incubator Client Advocate to monitor their progress, track their involvement with campus and other economic development program resources, assist them in identifying additional resource needs and opportunities, and help to guide the principals through the growth of their businesses.


The mission of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is to provide professional advisement, education, and network resources, and to advocate for small businesses and entrepreneurs in New York State. The Stony Brook Regional Small Business Development Center has counseled more that 12,000 clients and helped those clients obtain more than $300 million in financing in the form of loans, cash equity and investment equity from third parties.
